Family accident at Quilon beach

Thirumaran's son Aaekalaivan was almost drowned when the family was overcome by the sea on a day trip after their annual school exams.

AaekaleivanThe following is a slightly edited version of an email sent by Thirumaran on 29 April 2010. I hope that it is accurate (ed).

"Aaekalaivan, my son was saved from drowning in the Arabian sea (Quilon beach, Kerala state). He was taken to casualty ward, then operation theatre, saved and treated in Intensive care unit for 3 days and is now under treatment.

"Shanthi (My wife), Nannan (last son) and Tamil Aruvi (daughter), the whole family, were taken by the sea unexpectedly. 15 fishermen tried their best and saved them.

"We are trying to come out of the situation here.

"It happened when we went for a one day trip after their annual exams."
